Sacramento project record
Power Inn Queue Cutters is listed as in construction
Sacramento Public Works lists Power Inn Queue Cutters in the “In Construction” phase. The Power Inn Road Queue Cutter Project will improve vehicular and pedestrian safety at the Power Inn Road Railroad Crossing between 21st Avenue and Fruitridge Road (Federal Crossing ID 752887F). It will include the construction of a queue cutter traffic signal for southbound automobile traffic, close an existing sidewalk gap on the west side of Power Inn Road, install new railroad warning devices, and construct new concrete paneling to facilitate pedestrian crossings of the railroad tracks. The purpose of the queue cutter signal is to prevent southbound cars on Power Inn Road from backing up on the existing railroad tracks when there is congestion at the Fruitridge Road intersection. The project will also improve the pedestrian environment by closing a gap in the sidewalk and constructing new pedestrian warning devices. Under an agreement with Caltrans, the City will design and construct the queue cutter signal and sidewalk gap closure only. The remainder of the project, including all Schedule fields are plans and may change.
